Black Lady Liberty to be Featured on Upcoming Coin from US Mint

Barack Obama's historic time as the President of the United States is coming to an end, but not without leaving one last mark. The U.S Mint announced that a 24k gold coin featuring a black Lady Liberty will be released. According to CNN, the coin will be worth $100, and are set to be a part of a collector's series. The U.S. Mint gave more details about the rare items, noting that the coins are to commemorate the 225th anniversary of the U.S. Mint, as well as feature designs that represent the ethnic and cultural diversity of the United States. One side of the coin will feature a woman with a braided bun and a star crown, while the other side will display a bald eagle.
