Article Image: Caitlyn Jenner to Pose Nude on Sports Illustrated Cover with Olympic Medal
Olympic gold medalist and world famous transgender rights champion Caitlyn Jenner will soon be combining her two worlds, as she has been selected to appear on the front of a Sports Illustrated summer issue, Us Weekly has revealed. The cover shoot is sure to bring some noise, as sources have confirmed that the 66-year-old father of six is planning to pose nude beneath an American flag. The only other item on her body will be her gold medal placed around her neck.
S.I. is honoring Jenner, as 2016 marks the 40th anniversary of her epic performance at the 1976 Montreal Summer Games. It'll be the first time the "I Am Cait" star will grace the magazine's cover since making her transition. It was on the cover of Vanity Fair that the Kardashian patriarch brought her life altering choice to light in July of 2015. Ever since breaking the ice, Jenner has allowed herself the freedom to be more and more expressive about her true identity, taking it a step forward to be a loud and proud advocate of the LGBTQ community. Combined with a new head of hair and body proportions, when she drapes the gold around her neck this time, it'll be as though she is representing a new America; one leading the race for gender equality.
“I’m very proud of this,” the reality star said in a recent video. “That was a great time in my life. But to be honest with you, it’s even a greater time in my life right now with what I’m trying to accomplish.” As proud as she is about the coveted prize, it has never been something Jenner has showed out, claiming that for all of the years of their lives, her children were guarded from the metal, as Caitlyn didn't ever want them to feel like they had to live up to it. When asked where she hid it to keep them from being exposed to it, she replied, "at the bottom of my makeup drawer."
