Article Image: Woman Kills Roommate After Gun Goes off While Cleaning It
A Georgia woman has been arrested and charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter after accidentally killing her roommate while she was cleaning her gun. 26-year-old Keely Kilpatrick was apparently cleaning her gun downstairs of her suburban Atlanta home when her roommate, 43-year-old Dixie Cowe was struck in the chest. 
Kilpatrick's mother, who also lives inside the home, said she heard a loud noise coming from downstairs and when she entered the room where her daughter and Cowe were at, she “immediately told her that the gun accidentally went off and struck [Cowe]." 
Police say Kilpatrick and her mother have been cooperating with investigators. The 26-year-old is currently being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond.
