There's a reason why Ebro Darden is looked at as a voice in the culture. He has worked his way from an intern on the west coast to gaining his title as a music director at one of the most famous hip-hop stations in the culture, HOT97.
Since his arrival as a prominent morning show frontman at the station, Ebro has been able to gain a following as well as rub both artists and his audience the wrong way at times. The self-proclaimed "Old Man," Ebro has publicly expressed his disinterest and disdain in this current generation's interpretation of hip-hop and how it should be presented. Now, with his latest series of Tweets, he's accusing the industry and the powers that be of corruption being implanted in the culture.
Initially, Ebro mentions the 'Tekashis' of the world then reveals his thoughts on how the overseers of the music industry are displeased with the popularity of black and minority music, in specific regards to hip-hop so, these 'higher-ups' insert and fund disruptive figures into the growing culture of hip-hop in order to discredit and destroy it.
Ebro isn't the first to reveal this theory about the realm of music but his Twitter comments definitely have sparked a conversation on social media. Let us know your thoughts on Ebro's criticisms in the comment section.
