Daz Dillinger Says 2Pac Was a Crip Before Death Row
Long Beach OG Daz Dillinger hinted that the late Tupac was rolling with the Crips before buddying up with Suge Knight on Death Row Records in 1995.
Death Row was known to comprise of both Bloods and Crips, with Crip Snoop Dogg being one of the imprint's flagship artists and Daz himself working under the label between 1992-1999. At the time the rival gangs had been operating with some sense of unity following The Watts Truce, but while Bloods and Crips coexisted under Suge Knight, the company was for the most part dominated by his Piru [Bloods] affiliation.
In an Instagram post shared by Daz over the weekend, he reflects on how close Pac was to Tha Dogg Pound and their set prior to actually joining Death Row. "BEFORE TUPAC WAS ON DEATHROW & CURSED BY SUGE HE WAS CRIPP’N WITH THUGLIFE," he wrote, in the caption of a photo of Tupac wearing a blue bandanna. "I TOLD HIM THE NITE WE DID THE 5 SONGs FOR @alleyezmovie THE ALBUM I SAID ?PAC DONT LET THIS GANGBANG COME BETWEEN US AKA DEATHROW VS DOGGPOUND TruFactz."
