11-Year-Old Fatally Shoots 16-Year-Old During Home Invasion
Another young life has been lost due to guns in the St. Louis area after an 11-year-old killed a teenanger after he allegedly broke into the boy's home.
According to CNN, the shooting happened on Thursday when the 11-year-old was home babysitting his 4-year-old sister. Police told reporters the child told them the 16-year-old tried multiple times to break into the home, so he shot him in the forehead. The teen was pronounced dead on the scene.
Neighbors aren't buying the child's account of the story. One neighbor claimed she seen the teen hanging by the home with the child once before. "They were just arguing loud, you know, back and forth," the woman said."He was always was just sitting right there on the porch. He never did once go inside the house." She also said both children were outside when the shooting happened. The teen's body was found in the foyer of the home when the police arrived.
His mother, who has been working cooperatively with the police, says she purchased the gun because her home was the target of several break-ins.
