YOUNG THUG SAYS HE'D NEVER BUY A JAY Z ALBUM
Young Thug has been picked apart for referencing other men as "hubby," "bae," and other terms of endearment usually reserved for significant others, but his latest statement may be even more offensive to Hip-Hop heads everywhere, as he shared his feelings about aging within rap culture with GQ while admitting that he'll never cop a Jay Z album because the veteran MC is simply too old to be rockin' the mic.
The conversation steered itself towards Hov when Thugger was asked if he's a "music lifer." The "Lifestyle" rapper responded that he is because he wants to be relevant forever, but has no intentions of rapping in his later years.
Young Thug: Yeah, I'ma be here forever. I don't want to rap forever. But I want to be rich forever.
GQ: Why not rap forever?
YT: I don't want to be 50 years old and rapping, man. I'm pretty sure nobody wants to do that. I'm pretty sure Jay Z don't wanna rap right now.
GQ: Why is it such a young man's game?
YT: If you're 30, 40 years old, you're not getting listened to by minors. Like, Jay Z has some of the sickest lyrics ever, but I would never buy his CD, just because of my age and because of his age. By the time I turn that old, I ain't gonna be doing what he's doing.
