So get your running shoes and lets go! Welcome to the Exclusive Interview of Rubee Redd.

Tell us who is RuBee Redd?

RuBee Redd is a female rap artist hailing from Kailua Hawaii . A single mother who has lived a rough life growing up turned to music as an outlet. Moved to Las Vegas well over 15years ago, where she has been making a name for herself since. Her style of music is raw and uncut a straight scene out of her life she tells us how it was for her to over come controversy and struggles then and now. The gangsta B*tch of hip hop.

So what’s the meaning behind the name RuBee Redd?

Well Redd is my favorite color. RuBee was a name given to me by an OG that just stuck. More precious than just a stone it’s a gem of mysterious beauty.

You lost both your parents at an early age how did that affect you growing up?

I had to grow up fast. Wasn’t any time to be a kid. Before my mom passed away I was her biggest helper. Helping her take care and raise my brothers. I learned how to cook, clean and take care of kids before I was 10. After mom passed away I was orphaned, no parents so I had to learn to take care of me by myself. So yea I grew up at a young age.

So your mother was known for selling drugs, you ever thought to follow in her footsteps?

When I was younger I didn’t know when I realized that’s what it was. I myself was already getting into trouble. Can’t say I was following her footsteps but in the end it was the only way I knew how to survive at that time.

Being in multiple abusive relationships what advice would you give the woman going through similar?

The best advice I can give is, don’t let it start. If you allow it to happen once it’s going to continue because you allowed it. Get out before you get too far in. An abusive man will show you signs in the beginning by his ways, words and actions. Be aware of it. Don’t be afraid or be a victim.

When did you first get into music? When was that "this is what I want to do moment"

The very first moment I knew this is what I wanted to do was in middle school at a school talent show I entered and they loved me and I loved it.

How would you describe your music, for people who haven’t heard you before? Which 3 artist would you take to form up your style if you had too?

My music is raw uncut, no sugar coating straight real life Ish!
Trina, Nikki, Gucci

How do you feel about the state of hip-hop for woman? Sex sales, Nikki, Iggy, Kim all do it. Ever felt like that’s the mold you had to follow?

No I’m not tryna be the next Kim Nikki or Iggy I’m just being me. If you like me it’s because of my music not my ass.

Take us through your process of creating music.
If I feel something I write it. If I feel a beat I write to it. It can be in the studio or sitting at home in my bed. When the mood kicks in I get in my zone.

Your music is so raw and uncut ever fear of not being commercially unsuccessful?
I’m not even worried about it. I know my music isn’t commercial that’s why I make it. I’m just telling my story the way I live it. Not looking to get famous off it just wanted to share my story and my gift with everyone.

What do you ultimately wish your fans take from your music?

Just an understanding that if you lived life like I have. Then you’re not alone.
