Kevin Garnett’s sister, Ashley Danyelle Phelps, was arrested on Tuesday (June 4) in South Carolina after allegedly attempting to rob two different Check Into Cash stores and an Advance America.
According to TMZ Sports, Phelps reportedly tried to rob a Check Into Cash Store on Monday, demanding money and notifying employees that she had a bomb. Police say Phelps fled the scene without any cash after someone in the store pressed a panic button.
However, the attempt was not enough for Phelps as she attempted to rob another Check Into Cash Store the following the day. According to police, the second attempt was a failure, and Phelps tried her luck at an Advance America, where she told employees she had a bomb.
Upon investigation, police arrested the 37-year-old a short time after police stopped a car matching the description of the suspect's gateway vehicle.
She was charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of making a bomb threat, and one count of attempted armed robbery. She is being held without bond in the Greenville County Detention Center.
According to TMZ, Garnett used to have a close relationship, but the two no longer speak after having a falling out.
