Burgeoning rapper Yungeen Ace is fighting for his life after surviving a Tuesday night shooting (June 5) that left three, including his brother Trevon, dead near the St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville, FL.
According to reports, Yungeen - whose given name is Keyontae Bullard - and his brother were headed towards Interstate 295 after leaving a birthday dinner at Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse when passengers from an unidentified vehicle pulled up beside them opened fire.
Deputies from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office headed out in response to a call about the drive-by at around 10:53 pm. By the time they arrived, two of the young men occupying the riddled Chevy Sedan had already passed from their wounds. The third victim to fall casualty was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, while Yungeen was proclaimed to be in critical condition.
In addition to 18-year-old Trevon Bullard, Royale D’Von Smith Jr., 18, and Jercoby Da’Shad Groover, 19, have also been identified among the dead.
Detectives believe the attack stemmed from a gang-related dispute, as two of the car's occupants were reportedly known for having ties to a local gang set, but an investigation is being conducted to uncover further information that might lead to suspects and a motive.
