Bow Wow Admits That He Always 'Hated Rapping'
Rapper and actor Shad Moss, better known as Bow Wow, confessed to his Twitter followers this week that he’s always “hated rapping” and wanted to get into comedy and acting from a young age.
“My whole life I hated rapping. Folks don’t know that. I always wanted to be a comedian growing up. I wanted to act,” tweeted Moss on Friday. Some fans reacted by mocking the platinum selling artist and television star. “We’ve heard you rap, we’re glad you hate it too,” tweeted Absolutely Nothing in response to Moss’s statement. Moss has been rapping since he was 5-years-old and appeared in Snoop Dogg’s Gin and Juice video at that age. He released his first solo album “Beware of Dog” under the stage name Lil’ Bow Wow back in 2000 and had a successful career selling millions of records while he was signed to Jermaine Dupri's So So Def label. He’s released six studio albums with his last being in 2009. Since that time he’s shifted his focus to acting and landed a role on the CBS series “CSI:Cyber” in 2014. He also hosted BET’s 106th and Park video countdown for 2 years.
Moss also boasted about the money he’s making from television on Twitter this week. “In 5 months of filming I’ll have made more than half of what these rappers make in that 1 year alone,” he tweeted. “Man y'all stressing this music so much. I been told ya’ll, when I hit 30 I'm not rapping NO MO (birdman voice.)" Moss’s disdain with music seems like something he’s been contemplating for the past few years. In 2014, he decided to drop his stage name Bow Wow and officially go by his birth name Shad Moss. “Bow Wow does not fit who I am today,” said the rapper on Instagram. “Ima father, business man, TV host, Actor, and rapper! Time for MR Moss to take over!” He’s currently signed to Bad Boy Records, but hasn’t released any music with the label.
