An 18-year-old Ohio woman was indicted by a grand jury on rape and kidnapping charges after allegedly livestreaming her friend being raped on the social media app Periscope.  Police were notified about the offenses by a friend who viewed the footage during the livestream.
Marina Lorina, is accused of posting naked photos and video during the rape of her 17-year-old friend at the behest of Raymond Gates. Gates, is listed as a co-defendant in the case, and is presumably the man featured in the taped intercourse by force. The pair were indicted with rape, kidnapping, sexual battery, and pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor.
Each defendant faces up to 40 years in prison if found guilty. Franklin County court records do not list attorneys for either defendant to respond to the charges.
