Jaelyn Young plead guilty Tuesday to one count of conspiring to give material support to a terrorist organization.  The former Mississippi State University student faces up to 20 years in prison, lifetime probation and $250,000 in fines. 
Young told her family in a farewell letter that she was leaving to join the Islamic State according to the New York Post. “I found the contacts, made arrangements, planned the departure,” stated Young in her farewell letter.
Young's fiancé , Muhammad Dakhlalla plead guilty to a similar charge on March 11th and is awaiting sentencing. According to prosecutors Young is the one who coercedDakhlalla to join the Islamic State group. 
According to reports Young converted to Islam during her time at Mississippi State University, and became interested in the Islamic State group after watching videos online. 
Authorities arrested the couple last August before boarding a flight in Columbus, Mississippi destined for Istanbul, Turkey. The couple contacted undercover agents last May seeking information on how to travel to Syria. 
Jaelyn Young's sentencing date has not been set.
