Basketball Coach Forces White Players To Touch Black Players

An Oregon high school coach has been suspended after attempting to get his predominantly white team to play harder defense against a team with Blacks because they were “racist” according to Forbes reports:
In a formal complaint filed by four parents, including Laurie Wimmer, a government relations consultant with the Oregon Education Association to PPS superintendent Carole Smith dated Jan. 14 of this year, it alleges how Adelman came into a locker room during half time of a Lincoln High School JV game, and “berated” the Lincoln team because they were losing to the all-African American team from Jefferson High School. The memo goes on to say that although Adelman was not coach of the JV team, he allegedly said the white players on the team were “racist” and were “afraid to touch black students.” The coach then singled out each of the white players—all in their mid-teens—and asked if they had any “black friends.”
Adelman then pulled a freshman, and varsity player—both of whom are African Americans—into the locker room and attempted to make all the white players touch the black players. When the white players refused to do so, Adelman allegedly singled out two players and demanded that they touch them. The white players allegedly did so reluctantly, to which Adelman then said, “Does this make you like black people now?”
In speaking with prior coaches of the white boys that were singled out, none of them ever recalled a single incident when acts of racism were part of their makeup and were shocked at Adelman’s alleged actions.
