Beyonce Builds $7 Million Housing Complex For Houston Homeless
Beyonce is doing some good in her hometown hood.
In addition to giving half a million to the Chime For Change organization last month, Mrs. Carter has now reportedly shelled out a cool $7 million to build a low-income housing complex for the homeless in her hometown of Houston, Texas.
Pastor Rudy Rasmus of St. Johns Church in downtown Houston where ‘Yonce sang as a child had to say about her philanthropic efforts:

“She has a global platform and is doing some amazing work and I’m glad she’s a friend of mine.”
Rasmus presided over Beyonce’s 2008 wedding to rapper Jay Z. He said he doesn’t follow the tabloids. “And I validate my information with a conversation with the individual.”
Rasmus said Beyonce and her family have donated millions to the church to help house the homeless and feed the poor.
“She’s an incredible human being. Has an incredible heart and has been extremely helpful in our mission and our ministry here.” It’s a ministry Beyonce has been a part of since she was just a young girl.
“She used to sing right here,” said Rasmus. “I don’t remember the song but I do remember she had long braids, tennis shoes and jeans on. A far cry from what she is today.”
Although Beyonce has been giving back in both her own community and others across the world for much of her career, it looks like Harry Belafonte taking the Carters to task has definitely made a difference in how publicized she is about the good that she’s doing.
Can’t be mad at that, riiiigght?
