What's up folks!

Its been hectic as hell for me. I definitely need some drinks and random drunken ridiculousness this weekend.

Anyway.  Here’s what’s popping this weekend in the Big M!

Friday June 20^th

What:  BOB Concert with featured performers Tori Whodat, My Crazy Girlfriend, and my guy, Tyke T

Where: Minglewood Hall

Why Im Interested:   Besides the fact that Tyke T is gone show up and show all the way out as the opening act, I'm a BOB fan.   And I also want to support the efforts of the radio station to pair local independent artists with national acts.  https://www.facebook.com/events/149533708566283/

What: It’s a Mistake art show at the Glitch Art Gallery

Where: Glitch Art Gallery,  2180 Cowden Ave 6-11

Why Im Interested:  I ve seen some interesting pictures on facebook and instagram and I ve not had the opportunity to visit the Gallery since it opened last summer.  https://www.facebook.com/events/258197817698624/

What: The Ricky Smiley and Friends comedy show

Where: The Cannon Center; 8:00 pm

What:  Wyndie Oh! In concert

What: WomanChild

Where: Evergreen Theater 1705 Poplar Ave

Why Im Interested:  comedian Katrina Coleman is filming her album.  Ive always wanted to be “studio audience” (weird, I know) and this gives me a ground floor opportunity. Saturday, June 22

What:  Dance on Broad: Bollywood Edition

Where: Broad Water Tower Pavilion: 6pm

Why Im Interested: I’ve really enjoyed the last two Dance on Broad events! I highly  recommend it. Fun, family friendly and FREE!!!  Plus they have AMAZING food trucks. That Good Heaven?  Oh my Jesus!

 

What:  Memphis roller derby Double Header

Where: Pipkin Building, 940 Early Maxwell Rd 6pm

Why Im Interested:  first, I didn’t even know roller derby was a real thing, let alone that we had an active women’s  league in Memphis!  Hell Yeah, I’m interested!

 

What: The TakeOver: Anniversary Edition

Where: The Bradford, 10 N Second Street

What: A conversation with Nikki Giovanni

Why Im Interested: I LOVE Nikki Giovanni.  Seriously.   LOVE.  So there's that.
