Amanda Bynes Hospitalized on Psych Hold for Setting Fire

Amanda Bynes's tumultuous off-screen life has taken another sad turn, as the onetime child star has been hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation after allegedly setting a fire in a Los Angeles suburb.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Departmentconfirmed to omg! that Bynes "was involved in a disturbance at a residential area" about an hour outside L.A.
"Deputies responded and held her on 5150 welfare and institutions code [involuntary psychiatric hold] and [Amanda] has been taken for mental evaluation," said Capt. Don Aguilar.

psychiatric hold can last up to 72 hours. (Britney Spears was infamously put under one in January 2008.)
The Ventura County Fire Department responded to a 911 call at 8:38 p.m. on Monday, and Bynes was taken into custody after she was accused of starting a blaze in the driveway of Bonnie Braaten, 73.
According to the dispatch call, which was obtained by "omg! Insider," Bynes was wearing a blond wig, white shirt, black sweat pants, and had a backpack with a small Chihuahua.
When asked about Bynes's bizarre behavior, Braaten told In Touch, “The man from the fire department said she was 'whacked!' Acting all strange,”

Fortunately, Braaten's driveway suffered minimal damage. While it supposedly can be fixed with a little cement cleaner, Braaten thinks Bynes should repair the damage herself.

“What’s that called? Community service or something? That would be nice,” she added.
No immediate word on what prompted her alleged arson and, as of now, no charges have been filed against Bynes.
