North Las Vegas police arrested a deranged woman who was reported to have been waving a pick-ax outside of a crowded school playground on E Tonopah Ave on Tuesday, February 28.

According to an estimate provided by the administration at Tom Williams Elementary School, there were approximately 200 students enjoying lunch-period recess outside when Kisstal Killough, 33, showed up shouting and making threats just before noon time. An unprovoked Killough was reportedly threatening to "kill everybody" insight, which drew the concern of teachers and led to the NLVPD being contacted.
Within minutes a patrol officer arrived on the scene to spot the crazed woman climbing the yard's chain-linked fence. It didn't take long before she'd descend back down to the ground and surrender her weapon in compliance with the officer's commands. She'd be taken into custody without incident and booked into the Las Vegas Detention Center, where she remains on $23,420 bail.
Killough is now facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon, trespassing, loitering on school property and maintaining a public nuisance.
Meanwhile, the principal at Kristie Cole has issued a statement informing parents about the situation and encouraging all to use the incident as a teachable moment. “This incident serves as an important opportunity to remind our parents and students of safe practices and to look out for each other," Cole said. "If you or your child notices something suspicious or a person on campus who does not have a CCSD ID, please notify one of our staff members immediately.”
