Fat Joe Speaks Out Against Colin Kaepernick's Anthem Protest

Fat Joe weighed in on Colin Kaepernick's protest against the oppression of communities of color on Friday [September 9]. Fans of the Don, who side with Kaepernick's method of objection, might find it interesting to learn that while they can depend on him to give them the hits they like, they might not share the same views on social issues.
"Having thought about it, I ain't with protesting the National Anthem. Joey wrote, in a tweet that he would delete soon after posting it up. While it appears he is in agreement with speaking out against police violence, it is clear that Joe doesn't feel as though kneeling until the system actually carries out the ideals the flag poses to represent, is the most concise form of civil disobedience. He went on to question whether making military veterans uncomfortable helps the cause, writing, "Soldiers died fighting for our freedom, not cops. Why disrespect them?"
It seems as though every defense of and every knock against Kaepernick has been covered since he went through with the protest nearly a month ago. There have been those who like what he's standing for but won't support the action he took to get his point across. Then, there are those who appreciate that he's using his right to free speech, but disagree with what he is doing it for. Then there are also those who support it all, and there are those who are against every bit of what he's done. While such former and current players as Boomer Esiason and Drew Brees have blasted Kaepernick, guys like Shannon Sharpe and the Jets' Brandon Marshall have taken his side.
On Thursday's opening day game featuring the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos, Denver's Brandon Marshall [not to be confused with the Jets WR], became the fourth player to kneel, following Kaepernick, Eric Reid, and Jeremy Lane before him.
