MICHAEL SAM ANNOUNCES ENGAGEMENT TO LONGTIME BOYFRIEND

The NFL's first openly gay player, Michael Sam, announced his engagement to longtime boyfriend Vito Cammisano. Sam and his future husband have been vacationing in Europe since December 30, and friends started congratulating them on their engagement on Wednesday (January 8).

The couple have publicly shown their solidarity during their relationship, with Vito traveling to Dallas and St. Louis while Michael was working out with the teams. They also shared an emotional hug and kiss after it was announced that Sam was drafted by the St. Louis Rams, stirring up controversy online.
