JOEY BADA$$ FACING 5-YEARS AFTER ALLEGEDLY BREAKING A MAN'S NOSE

Rising Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ was recently charged with assault after he allegedly punched a security guard in the face and broke his nose at The Falls Music and Arts Festival in Byron Bay, Australia on Friday, January 2nd.  

According to police reports, Joey was approaching the stage when a 20-year-old security officer asked to see his ID before granting him access to perform his musical set.  This apparently angered Joey, and lead to him allegedly decking the guard hard enough to break his nose.  Joey was later arrested and charged with assault for the damage done to the security guard.  Bada$$ was released on unconditional bail after a brief court hearing the following morning.  If convicted, Joey could serve a maximum sentence of 5-years behind bars.

Since he regained his freedom, Bada$$ took to Twitter to vaguely address the situation that just occurred, and his many fans have been tweeting about his brief lockup as well.
