A California dad was horrified to find how easy it was to find an image of his teenage son’s body four years after he was killed — all he had to do was search Google Maps.

Jose Barrera, of Richmond, told KTVU-TV that he was shocked last week when he came across the satellite image of the 2009 murder scene, which included a picture of what appear to be cops standing near the body of his 14-year-old son, Kevin.

“When I see this image, it’s still like that happened yesterday,” the father told the news station on Sunday. “And that brings me back to a lot of memories.”

His son was found shot and killed near a set of train tracks on Aug. 15, 2009. Police have not revealed any possible motive for the murder and no arrests have been made.

The Google Maps image — which was still available to view as of Tuesday morning — shows what appears to be a body sprawled alongside the train tracks in front of what looks like a cop car.

Says Google Maps:

“Since the media first contacted us about the image, we’ve been looking at different technical solutions,” Google Maps Vice President Brian McClendon said in a statement on Monday.

“Google has never accelerated the replacement of updated satellite imagery from our maps before, but given the circumstances we wanted to make an exception in this case. We believe we can update this in eight days and we’ve spoken to the family to let them know we’re working hard on the update.”

Obviously, that grand gesture does little to ease the Barrera family’s pain.

“What’s the point to show those pictures to the people, you know — pictures of my dead son?” he said. “This is really painful to the whole family.”

Google doesn’t have anyone checking the images that get uploaded?! C’mon now…
