H&M Under Fire For Using Black Model w/ 'Unkempt' Hair!!
The company H&M is in the midst of another racial controversy! This time the publicly traded company used an African American girl to model its clothes - and people are upset about the girl's hair.
The model's hair is being described on social media as "unkempt" and thousands of people are claiming outrage over H&M's use of the image.
Here are the pics of the model:
This, however, isn't H & M's first time at the racial rodeo. Last year H&M used another Black child model for one of its ads. In the ad the child, a Black boy, was shown wearing a sweatshirt with the words “coolest monkey in the jungle” printed on the front.
Almost immediately, H&M was involved in a worldwide scandal - that drew public accusations of racism from all over social media, including celebrities such as the Weeknd and G-Eazy, who both cut ties with the company.
Since the scandal, the company has taken several corrective actions, including hiring a diversity leader and issuing a public apology on the top of its website - but now this.
We reached out for comment from H&M regarding this ad, and did not receive a response.
