Kanye West has come under quite a bit of fire over the album cover that he chose for Pusha T's new work, Daytona. The choice to use a 2006 photo of Whitney Houston's drug-littered bathroom vanity taken at her Atlanta home after an alleged bender has understandably been labeled as insensitive and tasteless by many. Not surprisingly, ex-husband Bobby Brown is furious over 'Ye's choice to use the photo.
If it was up to Brown, Kanye would get slapped across the face.
“Why would he post that on his album cover?” Brown asked during a recent interview with Rolling Stone. “That’s really disgusting that he would do that. That’s in really bad taste. Something should happen to Kanye. He’s already crazy. I knew that when I first met him. Now he’s pushing the bar a little bit. He needs somebody to slap him up or something. And I’m just the person to do it.”
The estate of Whitney Houston was also not pleased, saying it was “extremely disappointed in Kanye’s choice" in a statement put out Tuesday. “Even in Whitney’s death, we see that no one is exempt from the harsh realities of the world..."
Kanye reportedly paid $85,000 to license the photo used for Daytona, which released on May 25.
