Lonzo Ball has been receiving notable flak for calling Nas outdated and referring to Migos and Future as "real hip-hop." Ball has caught the wrath of many hip hop lovers, including Michael Rapaport, T.I. and even Nas' manager Anthony Saleh.
While Ball has since doubled down on his comments saying none of his friends listen to the Queens rapper and that he had his time, legendary DJ Kid Capri has chimed in on the matter calling the young point guard "crazy" for his comments.
In a post to Instagram, Kid Carpi joined the ranks of angry music veterans who feel the Lakers rookie should respect those who laid the foundation for the new generation of rappers. "Yo playboy, talking like that you better put them numbers up, cause if you don't I'm gonna remember what you said about one of our kings, and so is every @nas fan alive!!! You talking crazy CAUSE THAT'S THAT LIGHTSKIN SHIT!!!"
Capri, the Bronx native who has been a staple in Hip Hop since his days of dropping classic mixtapes and hosting Def Comedy Jam, continued saying, "You have the right to your opinion, but I have a right to make an opinion about YOUR opinion!!" he said. '
"If your dad has your back then he should have known that this was a bad statement, and instructed you like he instructs everything else you do, no diss, but @Nas BEEN instructing himself for decades, you young boys that run your mouth talking about the older kings had they time, you should wish to get to that level"
