Young woman who texted boyfriend to kill himself is found guilty, now faces 20 years in prison

It is very sad to know about suicide incidents, and it is sadder to learn if the person was being incited to attempt suicide by his dear ones—as it happened in this heart-wrenching story.
After three years, this girlfriend who sent text messages to his boyfriend to kill himself is found guilty.

Michele Carter then 17 and Conrad Roy 18 were just like any normal teenagers texting and calling each other most of the time. They met in Florida in 2012 while visiting their respective relatives and from then on developed a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. They exchanged many texts, calls, and emails during that time period.
In 2014, Conrad became depressed and showed intentions of killing himself; he voiced out his feelings to his girlfriend Carter. At first, Carter kept telling Conrad to ask for help and not take matters into his own hands but Conrad was saying he gave up already and was going to do it.
The day that Conrad was going to kill himself he was texting and speaking to Carter on the phone. At one point Carter gave up on trying to change his mind and instead was now prodding him to commit suicide. She sent at least 40 text messages asking him to kill himself.

So Conrad went inside his truck, locked himself in, closed all the windows except for one and placed a pump emitting carbon monoxide. At one point, he went out of the truck feeling very ill and called Carter, and she admonished him by saying “get back in,” and Conrad did as told.
Conrad was found dead in his truck due to carbon monoxide poisoning the next day.
Judge Lawrence Moniz of Bristol County Juvenile Court, announced her guilty of involuntary manslaughter. Carter, now 20, is to be sentenced Aug. 3 and faces up to 20 years in prison.
