The beef between Brian “Birdman” Williams and Lil Wayne seems to still be alive and well after Weezy aired out the record label at a recent concert.
Lil Wayne was about to perform “Pop That” at MassRoots 420 in Denver, Colorado when he stopped and asked for a bit of crowd participation. He busted into a short rant about his label home. “Say, f*** the bulls***!,” he yelled. “And f*** Cash Money!” Footage of the rant was captured by a fan and posted online.
Wayne’s comments come just weeks after Birdman’s confrontation with The Breakfast Club that was followed by an in-depth interview with the Power 105.1's Angie Martinez. While speaking with the radio veteran, Birdman assured listeners that the beef between him and Wayne wasn’t serious, but he did not confirm that there were currently no problems between the two. “Its kosher. That’s my son. We gonna always be cool. I love him to death that will never change,” said Birdman during the interview. “It ain’t never really been red tape to it. Like he hate me and I hate him. It I just think that media get a lot of things misconstrued and try to put it in they way. I never get caught up in that.”
Shortly after that interview, Birdman met with Hot 97’s Ebro Darden and addressed the issues with Lil Wayne further. “I think it’s more of a misunderstanding than a money issue. If you know me you know I always gave Wayne everything he ever wanted. Me and him talk. Best believe that situation gonna work itself out man,” the mogul said. Lil Wayne sued Cash Money for unpaid royalties back in 2015. The suit also claimed the company breached contract with the rapper for failing to pay him a $10,000,000 advance for his “Carter V” album after he turned it in in Dec. 2014. It seemed that tensions had cooled as Wayne was seen partying with Baby just a few months ago. They have also done songs together since then.
