3 Guns Found in Troy Ave's Van at Hospital, Including One from Shooting
New details have emerged about Troy Ave's involvement in last week's shooting at Irving Plaza that left one person dead and two others wounded. During his arraignment on Monday (May 30), Assistant DA Christine Keenan claimed that Troy Ave was driven to the hospital in a van following the incident, and inside police found three guns. A ballistics test tied one of the guns to the shooting.
Prosecutors also argued that the Brooklyn rapper fired five shots in the VIP area of Irving Plaza during the incident, and while earlier reports claim that Troy shot himself in the melee, his lawyer claims otherwise.
Scott Leeman, Troy Ave's lawyer, explained, "This 11 seconds of video that the NYPD released, it doesn't say what happened before, it doesn't say what happened after. The scientific evidence will show he didn't shoot himself. This was another rush to judgement. In this case he's the victim and should be treated like the victim."
