Former Syracuse Football Player In Custody for Stabbing Teammates

Article Image: Former Syracuse Football Player In Custody for Stabbing TeammatesA former Syracuse University football player revisited some former teammates Saturday with an apparent motive to cause harm, as SU defensive backs Chauncey Scissum and Corey Winfield are reported to have both fell victim to the man's attack.  Nasean Howard was charged with two counts of assault in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth, as he was charged in the stabbings of his former teammates.

The dejected Howard was suspended from the program in 2014, after the top recruit violated "training rules".  In October of that year he was documented to have been missing curfews, which possibly lead to his dismissal.  Earlier this year the former recruit re-enrolled at Syracuse.  Ultimately his return resulted to the misfortune of defensive backs Chauncey Scissum and Corey Winfield, both starters who worked their way up from redshriting into onto the team.

A speedy recovery is in the hopes of Orange alumni, as Scissum and Winfield are not only reported to be valued members of the school community, but integral contributors to the team.  Winfield recorded 30 tackles along with two interceptions and a pair of sacs last season, while Scissum logged 43 tackles.
