Dave Mirra Was In A Deep Depression Before Suicide

Last week we reported that MTV host and BMX legend Dave Mirra was found dead this from an apparent suicide at the age of 41. According to TMZ reports, the extreme sports phenom was suffering from a deep depression finding a new career:

Friends of Dave tell us … in the months before his suicide, he spent his time introducing kids in the Greenville, North Carolina area to extreme sports, such as speed cycling and biking.

Problem was … the 41-year-old couldn’t find anything in his life to even approximate the adrenaline rush he got from BMX. He knew working with kids was important, but the passion he felt while he competed just wasn’t there, and it became a significant factor in his deep depression.

Friends close to Mirra noted that the BMX legend felt “lost” following his retirement from the sport but thought helping kids would close this void. In fact, TMZ sources were told hours before he fatally shot himself, Mirra talked about plans to bring a speed cycling track to his city.
