Lottery Winner's Boyfriend Explains Why She Spent Millions on His Bail
The boyfriend of North Carolina Powerball winner, Marie Holmes, finally spoke out about his ride-or-die girlfriend spending millions of her winnings to bail him out of jail. In addition to making headlines for winning $188 million last year, Holmes was publicly criticized for spending a significant amount to get Lamarr "Hot Sauce" McDow, out of jail. In August 2015, Holmes reportedly spent $9 million and later spent a whopping $12 million on New Year's Day. In an interview with The Daily Mail, McDow defended his girlfriend saying, "We are a couple, and I am the father of her youngest child. This is what people do for each other. She has the money and she can do what she wants with it," he explained. "If I had that money then I would do the same for her. People are just jealous because of how much she won and people want to see me locked in jail."
According to Vibe, Holmes addressed her critics through Facebook, writing, "What Y'all need to be worried about is Y'all money and not how I spend mine this is benefitting Y'all how? And no he's no drug dealer or user but who are Y'all to judge anybody?"
