Sam Smith Says He’d Rather Be Called Gay Slur Than Fat

Sam Smith may be in control of his superstar music career, but that doesn’t mean he’s in control of his relationship with food.
Via Rumor Fix reports:
The singer, who recently lost 14 pounds in 14 days, sat down with Australian television show 60 Minutes on Sunday, where he opened up about his weight.
“When I was at school and wasn’t having a great time or when music wasn’t going very well. I would eat, eat,” said the 22-year-old. “Eating would make me feel better, when I felt lonely I would eat.”
“Three weeks ago I met a woman who has completely changed my life,” Smith wrote alongside an Instagram photo he posted last month debuting his weight loss. “Amelia Freer has helped me lose over a stone in 2 weeks and has completely transformed my relationship with food. Everyone go check out her incredible book, and start to live healthy. It’s not even about weight loss it’s about feeling happy in yourself. Love you Amelia & thank you for making me feel so happy inside and out @ameliafreer #eatnourishglow.”
“If someone called me fat, that affects me way more than someone calling me a f—–,” said Sam. “I think just because I’ve accepted that, if someone calls me a f—–, it’s like, I am gay and I’m proud to be gay so there’s no issues there,” Sam continued, adding that the “fat” comments resonate more because “that’s something [he] can change.”
