And he did just that, excelling in promotion production and radio hits. His flow became accepted across the states. His personality, music and hustle carries the currency in Gold which is always accepted everywhere. Welcome to the exclusive interview of BeeDee Swaggna only at ViralVoice. #V2
#1 -Tell us who is Bee-Dee Swaggna? Bee Dee Swaggna is the real definition of a
humble individual. I am very unselfish and I always kept 100 with one’s I’m
affiliated with.(Even with the one’s Im
no longer dealing with.) Im loyal to my team and I make sacrifices for my
people the most won’t. I am a great father to some of the most handsome kids in
the world. I always keep God first in my life, my family second ,and then the
music. I am very proud of where I’m from (Tunica, MS). I love my 9 to 5 and in
my spare time I enjoy playing sports , hanging out with my family, and
recording music. I started recording music seriously in 2006. I kinda fell into
it by hanging out with my cousins fooling around in the studio. That’s when people
started to noticed the potential. Every since then I’ve been focused.
#2 -So you’re from Tunica Mississippi, but
relocated to Texas. How's the culture and music scene differ? Music was going good for me in Tunica,
but I felt like I would have a better opportunity if I went outside of where I
was from to pursue my dreams. So in 2008 I moved to Dallas, TX to get in a
position where I can do something positive with myself. A place where I can
avoid trouble and concentrate on my
goals. The things I have experienced in life while living in my hometown have
prepared me for almost anything. So anything that I’m faced with in Dallas
won’t be anything that I haven’t seen before. Why? Because I’ve been lied to,
I’ve been hated on, I’ve been turnt on, I’ve been neglected, I’ve been talked
about ,I’ve been cheated on, I’ve been dissed, and etc. So nothing surprises me
out here because I’ve been through it all. However,I was able to keep a
positive spirit throughout it all. GOD IS GOOD!
#3- Who was your favorite rapper growing up
like what type of music did "Kid BEE-DEE" listen too?
I grew up on 3-6 Mafia, Playa Fly, 8-Ball & MJG, Yo Gotti, Tommie
Wright, Tupac, Biggie, UGK, and DTP. Those were the only artists I was exposed
to coming up.
#4- You grew up without a father figure
present, you resent him for not being there? I was always taught by my mother to forgive. By me knowing what
I know today, I can understand what my father went through as a young teenager.
So I love my father more today than ever. We have a great relationship, but I
do plan on being the father to my kids that I never had growing up.
#5- Before music there was sports, and you had
a full scholarship off baseball, and even looks to go Pro. What faulted on that
dream? Sports were my first
love(Baseball in particular). I was blessed with enough talent that I was able
to get my whole college education paid for. There were talks of me playing at the next level, but my baseball
career ended in 2003 due to a terrible shoulder injury. I’m still thankful and
grateful that I had that experience and that I was able to receive my College
Degree. Even today,I still enjoy teaching the youth the game that I love so
much. So if music doesn’t work you can see what my fall back plan is.
#6- You have an amazing online buzz, what you
think contributed to such a following? The biggest reason the Internet has been good for me is because of my transition from Mississippi
to Dallas. When I first moved to Dallas I didn’t know many people. So I didn’t
have enough bodies to cover any ground with the CD’s.I was pretty much all me
at first. That’s how I ended up taking the Internet route. In my case, it
worked out tremendously. Because of my Internet grind I now have music that’s
heard across 22 states.
#7- So take us through what it takes for Bee-Dee to come up with a verse, like what’s your process? The first thing I do is that I put myself in the shoes of the audience. Then I determine what moves me as a fan, and that’s how I initiate my process of writing. After the process begins the bars just come to me.
#8 - Let us in on your record company "Hussa Smart" what made you go the route of creating your own, and are you
currently looking for acts?
When I first started doing music I use to rap about the thing I
was affiliated with in the streets(Guns,Drugs, and etc), but I wasn’t about that
type of life anymore. I wised up and decided to use my Degree to make my money.
And that made me change way I recorded my music. Thats why I started Hussa
Smart Music Group. I wanted to show the people that looked up to me that there
is money down a different road other than the fast life. That’s not the life I
want my kids to know I lived. And the artist that I have under me believes have
the same vision. Im Not A Dope Boy..I am An ARTIST and my label mates are not
Dope Boys. They are Artist. Im good with the team I have as of now, but I don’t
mind working with any artist if they are grinding like I Am.
My first two
Projects Exercising Da Flow 1, 2 display great music, but The things I
talked about are the same things that I re frame from today. So I came up with
the new series of Trap Wise which means get my money the smart way and
honestly. I wanna sleep good at night knowing that I earn my money they right
way. So in my latest projects from Trap Wise 1 & Trap Wise 2 you can
literally hear the transition from rapping about drugs to the point that talks
of drugs is completely out the picture by the end of Trap Wise 2. So that’s why
Im into the Trap Wise Series. You will see the growth In Trap Wise 3,4,5, and
so forth.
#10 - One of your most emotional records
called "Lord Why" almost made you quit rapping. Whats the story
behind that?
Lord why is one of my
least favorite record. In 2011 I lost 6 family members in the same year. The
youngest was 14 and the oldest was only 55. And the time I recorded “Lord Why”
I was very upset with God,and I recorded the whole song out of anger because I
felt like after everything I’ve been through,he allowed all the people that I
love the most to die and leave me. At that point,”Lord Why” was the last song I
planned to record. 6 months later I realized to the people I lost wouldn’t want
me to give up and that God Has His Plans Layed Out. So after 6 months I picked
up the pen & pad and started back recording. To this day, every show I do is
dedicated to those 6 individuals. They’re the reason I hard extra hard. R.I.P to
Aunt Brenda, Lil Jo Jo ,Aunt Andre, My StepDad Lewis, Cousin Cherry, and Cousin
Jimbo. I Love You!
#11 - For the people who haven’t listened to
your music before describe to them your style. And what you hope to deliver? My style is straight forward. I’m more
of a catchy Artist who uses a unique delivery, punchlines, and metaphors to win
over the listeners. In every line, verse, song, and mixtape you can hear the
hunger, the pain, the hurt, and the joy in my voice.Thats the only thing I hope
to deliver to the audience (All Of Me).
#12 - What so far has been your favorite
"moment" while being a rapper. And what’s something you hope to
accomplish before your career is over? To be honest, everytime a fan tells me, “I Love Your
Music,” that’s a proud moment for me. Every time another great artist reaches
out to me to collab, that’s a proud moment for me. Every show I perform is a
proud moment for me because I do this for a purpose. Before my career is over I
just want to be in a position where I can be a blessing to others. I don’t
necessarily need to have a record deal because my life isn’t depended on it,But I
want to be able to change lives.PERIOD!
#13 - Any shoutouts, Projects, sites we need
to know about? I have so many people to thank, but just to
name a few: S/O to my Manager Lamar Randall & the rest of my Management
Staff for working so hard for me.S/O to my brother Kronic(S2FMG) for all the knowledge he share with me. S/O to Bango and C-Bee for sharing their
knowledge with me while I was learning to record myself. S/O to Kush
Beatz(Mixtape LA) and Darius Johnson (Flac City Poparazzi & My FMG Fam) for
getting my music heard on the West Coast. S/O to all the Radio Stations and
Internet Stations for the spins. S/O to all of my fans who have supported me
since the beginning. My next project “Trap Wise 3” drops in late January, A
Collab project “Love & Flow” with My R&B brother Promise is on the way,
another collab project “Side By Side” with my brother Yung Flic is on the
way,and another collab project “Email Session pt.2” with my Houston Brother
Petey Godson is on the way..#ImBusy
