Tommie denied enrollment in mental health program
Tommie Reportedly Denied Enrollment Into Court’s Mental Health Program Because Of Her Arrest Records
It’s unfortunate when your past catches up to you, and it looks like #TommieLee is having a difficult time escaping her run ins with the law. Despite her efforts to seek help from a mental health program, prosecutors are not here for it.
According to legal documents obtained by @tmz_tv, the Assistant District Attorney determined Tommie’s criminal history and background make her ineligible for the program, and “make her an inappropriate candidate for an accountability court.”
As we previously reported, Tommie submitted a petition in her child abuse case to allow her to get treatment for a serious mental illness. Her time in the program would have spared her from having to serve jail time.
Tommie was indicted in January on multiple child abuse charges for allegedly assaulting her daughter. She is currently facing 7 charges and could face up to 54 years in prison if convicted.
Prior to her indictment, Tommie was arrested twice in connection to this case–once for an alleged assault in October, and again less than 24 hours later for violating a court order to stay away from her daughter.
Unfortunately for Tommie, her struggles with alcohol abuse have been publicized as well. She was also arrested in March for showing up to a hearing case extremely intoxicated.
We are sending well wishes to Tommie and her family during this time, and hope she can get the help that she needs.
