A wealthy Pennsylvania wife is believed to have shot a woman she believed was having an affair with her husband.

Radnor Township Police allege that Jennair Gerardot, 48, shot and killed her rival 33-year-old Meredith Chapman.

“Jennair went to great lengths to disguise herself,” Police Superintendent William Colarulo said. “She wore a wig, and took a train from Delaware to Radnor [Pennsylvania]. She broke into the victim’s house, and cleaned up the glass so the victim didn’t realize someone was in her home.”
Many reports said that Gerardots plotted a “calculated attack,” according to the police. “There were emails and text messages indicating what she planned to do,” Radnor Township Police Superintendent William Colarulo said in a news conference Tuesday.
Jennair's husband, Mark Gerardot, worked at the University of Delaware, where Merideth used to work. The two were close friends, and allegedly started having an affair. Merideth eventually left her job and took on another position as assistant vice president at Villanova University.
According to police, Jennair shot Merideth around 7 p.m. when she walked in the door. With her Taurus Tracker .357 revolver in hand, she waited for Chapman to get home. As soon as Chapman walked through the door, police said, Gerardot shot her. The jilted wife then turned the gun on herself.
The alleged assailant’s body was found near the kitchen, not far from Chapman’s, news station WACU reported.
The Washington Post also reported that:
Outside the bloody scene, police came across the man who brought the two women together — Gerardot’s husband, Mark. “My wife might be inside,” he told police.
