Texas Man Offered Marine Buddy $25K to Kill Ex After She Got with Black Guy

A Texas man is in police custody after placing a hit on his ex-girlfriend and her new black boyfriend. Keith Cote, 62, approached one of his Marine friends to do the job, offering him $10K to shoot the man and another $15K to "put a bullet in her head." Court papers state that Cote approached his friend during a University of Texas tailgate party where he disclosed his proposition and that Cote felt this man had "killed before" and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Much to Cote's chagrin, his friend alerted local law enforcement of the plan and began to cooperate with police to build a case against Cote.

Authorities apprehended Cote on Monday, charging him with soliciting to commit capital murder. Cote is currently being held on $1M bond at the Travis County Jail.
