Too much sauce! Two Papa Johns employees were busted after they were caught selling cocaine out of a Washington state location.
Sammamish police told CNN they got a tip back in December 2016 that the restaurant was selling drugs in the parking lot. Undercover cops scored four times from two different employees. The workers would bring the drugs over to their customers hidden in a pizza box. When the employees ran out of drugs themselves, they introduced the undercover cops to their friends who were also selling the product. Investigators called the sting “Operation Extra Olives.”
When law enforcement officials searched the restaurant Friday morning, they found $28,000 in cash, coke, ecstasy, marijuana, oxycodone, LSD & meth. They also found cocaine residue around the cash registers and employee wash stations. The store’s managers say they knew nothing about the drug sales. Two employees were arrested along with three of their friends.
In a statement to CNN, a spokesperson for Papa Johns wrote, "Papa John's has zero tolerance for this type of offensive and illegal behavior…the franchise has confirmed that the employees involved with this situation are no longer employed and we apologize for their actions. The franchise is working in full cooperation with local law enforcement to resolve this matter."
