Article Image: Trump's Approval Rating Drops to New Low 35%, Falls Under Obama's Lowest
President Donald J. Trump's approval ratings fell to a brand new low this week. Since his inauguration on Jan. 20, he dropped down to 35%, lower than former President Barack Obama lowest at 38% in 2013.
According to a national poll by Quinnipiac University, his numbers dropped two points since his previous rating at 37% on March 22.
The poll also says that the majority of Americans believe that Trump an is not honest person who does not have good leadership skills. It also shows that they believe, “He does not care about average Americans", “He is not level-headed" and “He does not share their values”. Overall, 52% of the country says that they are embarrassed to have him as president.
Tim Malloy, Quinnipiac University's assistant director, says that even his most die-hard supporters are starting to waver from Trump based on his recent actions.
“President Donald Trump continues to struggle, even among his most loyal supporters,” said Mallow. “Many of them would be hard pressed to see even a silver lining in this troubling downward spiral.”
Within the bleak results, there's only a sliver of positive news as the study shows that a majority of Americans also believe Trump “is a strong person” and “is intelligent.”
