Anti-Gay Pastor Found Guilty of Molesting Young Boys and Girls
Last year, a vicious shooting took place at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida leaving 49 people dead and 53 people wounded. The shooter was caught and the media had a field day with the incident, but many had negative comments to go along with the coverage, including a pastor who made negative statements about the shooting.
In the aftermath of the shooting, Georgia pastor Kenneth Adkins commented that the victims of the mass shooting "got what they deserved." Adkins said, "I don't see none of them as victims, I see them getting what they deserve!" He also noted that he wanted to make a push against expanding non-discrimination protection to people who are a part of the LGBT community. He made it clear he wanted to boycott Jacksonville, Florida's Human Rights Ordinance, saying "If HRO passes, I'm forced to allow people in women's bathrooms. I don't think that's right." The pastor even went as far as dressing up as woman and delivering "a message to the homosexuals that have take over the Duval Democratic Party."
Now, it looks as if the tables have turned on the pastor, as he was found guilty of molesting a teenage boy and teenage girl. Pastor Kenneth Adkins was convicted of two counts of aggravated child molestation, one count of enticing a child, and five counts of child molestation. The verdict came after a six-day trial, with the jury only deliberating for an hour. Despite being found guilty, the pastor is set to appeal the conviction. Until then, he is currently facing life in prison. Adkins' sentencing will be taking place on April 25, 2017.
