Chrisette Michele to Perform at Trump Inauguration
While a number of publications have failed to receive a response from Michele's camp, concerning her commitment to the engagement, the publication's sources detail how Michele was contacted along with crooners Travis Greene, Jonathan McReynolds and Tye Tribbett, and extended an invitation to re-deliver their 2016 BET Celebration of Gospel rendition of the song "Intentional," for the incoming President. But two of her three collaborators promptly declined, and Michele's decision to get on board is said to have been further clouded when she witnessed the backlash Jennifer Holliday received for joining the festivities some days later. According to those close to the development, her camp has refrained from entertaining the question of her involvement to prevent her name from being dragged in the media.
Michele is expected to join country singers Toby Keith and Lee Greenwood, along with Motown veteran Sam Moore and pop-rockers 3 Doors Down during the artistic segment of the inauguration agenda, on Thursday [Jan. 19], in Washington D.C.
