Malia Obama's T-Shirt Trolls Critics of Her Allegedly Smoking Weed

Of the many esteemed attendees seen enjoying their Labor Day weekend alongside Beyonce and Jay-Z at his 5th annual Budweiser Made in America Festival, Malia Obama may have stuck out the most. The President and First Lady's first daughter set the blogs off on her choice of attire, with photos and videos of her sporting a tee that seemed to mock some of the headlines that sprung about after the last concert she was sighted at. "Smoking Kills," read the words across the shirt she wore, to go with a pair of short denim shorts and a Harvard hat.

The first weekend of August seemed to be a wild one for Malia, and the media took notice after a video that got around of her twerking at Lollapalooza was followed up by a recording which captured her pulling a drag from what appeared to be either a cigarette or marijuana joint. Her public image took an immediate turn for an audience who has witnessed her grow from a girl to a young woman over the two-term course of the current administration. Around the same time, sister Sasha was away working at Martha's Vineyard for the summer, leading many to draw contrasts between the two.

Upon entering office in 2008, Barack's affinity for smoking, which he had developed late in his teens, was called into question. He would reportedly kick the habit in 2011.
