Father Brings Daughter to Craigslist Gun Sale; Gunned Down Afterwards

A man was accidentally shot and killed after arranging a gun sale on the popular trading website, Craigslist. Missouri father, Jake Brantner, fatally exchanged gun fire in a parking lot near the Kansas City Royals Stadium before the team’s home opening win.

Brantner is said to have set-up the gun sale online although banned by Craigslist. The circumstances surrounding the 39-Year-Old’s death are unclear but witnesses suggest, Brantner may have used his gun in self-defense while his 10-year-old daughter waited in a nearby truck.

Missouri does not require background checks, permits or registration in the sale of firearms. Brantner’s daughter witnessed the fatal incident, bystanders discovered the child weeping in the car although, unharmed.

One eyewitness expressed concern for the child saying, “It’s terrible…She has to live with this the rest of her life”.

Brantner was a highly regarded body shop owner in Lees Summit, MO.
