Iggy Azalea comes back at Erykah Badu for her diss at SoulTrain
Dec. 1, Iggy Azalea finally responded to Erykah Badu's Soul Train Awards opening monologue diss on Twitter after the singer tried to discredit her rap career. The Australian native who's been highly criticized about her authenticity in hip-hop in the past addressed Sunday's incident by reminding her critics of her successful past in a brief tweet.
"Hi guys I know its been a while." She wrote Tuesday, "We are days from 2016, but I came online today and saw it's still cool to try and discredit my 2014 accomplishments. LOL, f****** hell. Seems exhausting. Anyway - I've been enjoying the holiday season and I hope you all have too."
Sunday, the "Bag Lady" songstress pretended to call Andre 3000, Young Thug and Iggy Azalea inviting the rappers to attend the soulful award show and jokingly answered the phone, "Uh yes? Who is this? Iggy Azalea?" Erykah began, "Yeah, hey. Oh no no no no, you can come, 'cause what you doin' is definitely not rap."
What do you think about Iggy Azalea's stance in hip-hop?
