Chance The Rapper on Chiraq: Chicago's Not Supporting This Film
Plenty of Chicago rappers have voiced their displeasure with Spike Lee's latest fim Chiraq, including Chance The Rapper, who took to Twitter to share his thoughts. He started out by saying, "Let me be the one from Chicago to personally tell you we not supporting this film out here."
He added, "That s*** get ZERO love out here. S*** is goofy and it's a bunch of ppl from NOT around here telling u to support that s***. The people that made that s*** didn't do so to "Save Lives". It's exploitative and problematic. Also the idea that women abstaining from sex would stop murders is offensive and a slap in the face to any mother that lost a child here."
Other rappers who have publicly shared their opinion include Chief Keef, Lil Bibby, and Rhymefest, who said Spike Lee owed the city an apology.
