Lil Wayne Claims Birdman Owes Drake, Nicki Minaj And Tyga Money Too
According to a report from TMZ, Lil Wayne isn’t the only Young Money artist who is short a couple M’s.
Weezy’s lawyers have received letters from Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga all stating that neither they, nor their producers, have been paid the money they are rightfully entitled to.
This seems to be par for the course for Cash Money as they have had a GANG of lawsuits from former artists and producers over the years.
Apparently, YMCMB was entitled to a big portion of the $100 million that their parent company was paid by Universal records.
In rebuttal, Birdman & co. say they have paid big bucks to their sister label, including at $20 million advance, $12 million for Lil Wayne’s album, and over $70 million in advances, royalties, marketing and recording costs for the other Young Money artists.
Cash money also says, Lil Wayne and Young Money owes them 8 more albums on their 21 album deal.
Sounds like this is going to take a LONG time to resolve. That said, Drake reportedly made $39 million last year. What would he have made if he been paid what he’s actually owed? Yikes.
