NIKE ENDS PARTNERSHIP WITH ADRIAN PETERSON AMID PLEA DEAL

Adrian Peterson has lost his immediate reinstatement into the NFL and has officially been dropped from Nike as a spokesperson.
According to USA Today, the company suspended the player when it was revealed he beat his 4-year-old son with the switch. The former Minnesota Vikings pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of misdemeanor reckless assault. He was also given a $4,000 fine and 80 hours of community service. Nike released the statement, "Adrian Peterson is no longer a Nike athlete." on Thursday.
In the past, the player has worked with Nike on endless campaigns including taking on the role of a creative consultant for the league's new uniforms in 2013. Peterson will remain on the NFL's exempt/commissioner's permission list. He will also continue getting paid even though he hasn't played this season.
