Sajac Album Review: Cassius Clay
It starts with the most memorable speech in sports history. The beat knocks in as the speech fades and we dive deep into the mind of Sajac. Here is the official review of Cassisus Clay only at VIRALVOICE
The Album starts clean and hits on its title. The beat is creative and has a great rhythm. Sajac comes in with hard lyrics and harder punchlines. Sport punchlines stay on topic and his aggressive voice provides the perfect intro. A woman sends out a prayer that gives the album a deep feel. The second song "NAH" hits hard, the instrumental has your average trap setup. The chorus has a more layed feel. The catchy alib's support the message. As Sajac manages to do delivery verses that really open up as the song goes. He stayed with his aggressive style and vivid lyrics that matches his pursuit from the intro. The "Nah" in the song is definitely the highlight in the song and is done well. It's just has a catchy, commercial sound to it. It never manages to touch you in any special way as this song format an topic is hit often by rappers. "Die Like A Man" has a different production. It also has a vivid story of what has changed rap. The ways of getting exposure and the longevity that have became obsolescent of most careers. The chorus kicks in and is just dope, the raspy voice mixed in with his passion delivers a great feel. But then, the song fades leaving the listener wondering. Why would he just drop a full song with a chorus so good. Definitely was a down fall and someone should of pushed him to make this a full record. "Rubberbands" comes in and immediately your head is nodding. Sajac used a toner(made the voice sound chimpmunk) on the chorus. Which makes it fun, its blends perfect and is dubbed perfect. The beat hits symphonic with the chorus and instantly becomes infectious. Sajac comes in and raps a verse perfectly. His delivery keeps you moving as he never drops a bar or becomes boring. This sound is great for Sajac's raw style. Slide into "Side Chick feat: P.London" the production on this is another good pick. Sajac kicks off the chorus and it hits well. But, P.London drags behind as she just don't sound as good. And one of her words fall short of the bar and looses it's rhythm doing the chorus. Its a BIG letdown because its in the chorus. The verses are smooth from Sajac. And he delivers a vivid story but, lackluster delivery. Its made up with well place alibs but kind of drags a bit. London delivers great personality through out her verse. But, its just not delivered up to par as we would of hoped. "Lorraine Motel" comes in. And just the production alone gives you chills. This record is done so well. The featured rapper "Blizzy Ballard" raps are so refreshing. His voice is clear and has a real professional tone. The chorus comes in and has the perfect vibe. The word "shot" has a perfect reverb. The similes and lyrics that are used all flow in perfect.. This record is done great and the passion is undeniable. This song reaches deeper than most songs in hip-hop can. It's gold for the industry executes that care about the substance of hip-hop. Although, mixing wise the song had to much ess in it. And some of the plugins were very strong and sounded noticeable distorted. Which is what they where going for but it was just up too high. "Hustle Musik" has a layed back vibe to it. The production is small but precise and vibes well. The chorus and rap all are done well and vibes a certain Miami coast sound. Sajac voice was lower toned and not as strong, but he still felt better suited for his higher energy records. A feature rapper "Promise" brings a different life to the record. He does a varied delivery that offers the listener some great playback. The song is short and sweat. "BEST DREAMS" has similar tones and vibes. The chorus isn't really impressive but delivers the message well. The verses are distinct and offers a good outlook on Sajac. It has a vulnerable feel to it and that's what great about the record. Mac Gutta features a verse on the record. And it is done extremely well and is highly entertaining. This is just a great record that lost a little potential around the chorus. The album raps up with "The Vision" a melodic and eery style beat provides the finale. The message that Sajac provides is risky, and isn't common in hiphop today. The reason I say risky is because it's a uncommon topic in hiphop. Which we love, its about coming together, which he provides a raw view on, he don't cut corners or hold his tongue. He points fingers at gangs and say we only hurting ourselves. The song as whole isn't highly impressive but his delivery and wordplay pulls it through. Cassius Clay is an album that hits hard in certain aspects. He delivers Ali style punches, and ropes you in, With his honestly and his real style lyrics. You learn alot about Sajac through this album and that's what we Love. But Ali also, did alot of "dancing" "rope o dope" and Sajac does that as a artist too. It's songs that just don't push the marker as we can tell he could do. The production is well picked, but the mix and recording on some of the album is just not on point and drops the album as a whole. That aside Cassius Clay is a album that provides Jab, Jab, Jab and a couple knock out songs.
