The ex-wife of former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle claims in a new lawsuit that the sandwich company knew he was pedophile years before it came out publicly.
Kate McLoughlin married Fogle back in 2010, and she says top executives at the company knew as early as 2004 and should have outed him. The suit claims the company could have saved her and their children from going through the emotional distress they currently have to endure if it acted on the knowledge. “A responsible corporation would take immediate action when hearing of this behavior, even if it was only allegations, Subway failed every test of corporate responsibility in its response to each of these complaints,” the lawsuit reads.
The suit also claims Subway was notified of Fogle’s “depravities” on three occasions. In one of these instances, a woman told the company’s CEO that Fogle admitted to having sex with children ages 9 to 16. The CEO responded by telling her that he did not want to hear any more about it and that Fogle would be good from here on out since he met a woman who would keep him “grounded.” That woman happened to be McLoughlin. Fogle was sentenced to 15 years and 8 months for child porn and sex with minors in November of last year.
